Negative-tip barrel connector. Unit operates on 12V DC. KAWAI MM-16 MIDI MIXER CONTROL UNIT The Kawai MM-16 is a multipurpose MIDI data processor. With 17 front-panel faders, its most obvious function is as a generic 16-channel MIDI mixing console (it can also be used as a DAW control surface). However, the MM-16 includes many additional useful functions such as MIDI merge/split, overflow routing, SysEx patch editing, and more. It has been used for advanced MIDI setup/programming tasks and as a control surface with Reaper DAW. FEATURES MEGA MIX Functions as a MIDI mixing console with individual MIDI volume control for all 16 channels plus a master volume control. CONTINUOUS CONTROL In Channel Control mode, provides direct front-panel access to MIDI controller functions such as Modulation, Expression, Breath Control, Portamento, Pan, etc. In Key Balance mode, the 16 faders act as a velocity graphic equalizer, allowing re-voicing or dynamic adjustment of keyboard instruments. EXCLUSIVE EDITING (SysEx) Provides real-time synthesizer parameter control via SysEx. Presets included for Kawai K4/K4r, XD-5, and K-1. Custom programs can be created and saved via SysEx dump to a MIDI data filer such as the Kawai Q-80. MERGE / SPLIT Allows merging two MIDI devices (e.g., keyboard and sequencer) into one MIDI stream. Can also split MIDI signals by channel, note number, velocity, or alternate outputs (overflow). Includes channel reassignment. SETUP PATCH MEMORY Includes 64 setup memories storing volume levels, program change numbers, and MIDI channel conversion settings. I/O 2 sets of MIDI IN / OUT / THRU (6 connectors total). Both MIDI inputs are merged and simultaneously output to both MIDI OUTs (SysEx only via Output 1).
